How to Host the Perfect Garden Party

How to host a garden party! I am in my hosting era and if you’re here, you are most likely in the same! Hosting is one of the best ways to celebrate, have an excuse to get dressed up and bring people together. It brings me so much joy to get the people I care about an event to go to where there is lots of conversation, great food and everyone is embracing the present moment.

Dress Up!

The perfect excuse to dress up. Make it fun and have everyone participate in a dress code. It’s the perfect excuse to get your friends and family to wear that dress that has been sitting in their closet.

Pick a Color Palette

Choose soft hues for Spring such as blush pinks, creams, and lavender. A great way to stay within the color palette and create a cohesive feel is to bring colors in through the small details. I personally think less is more, and decorating with florals gives you endless options. Decorate the table scape with flower petals, mini bouquets, or add edible flowers in through food. For example, dried edible rose buds frozen into ice cubes, or edible flower petals elegantly placed on a pastry.

Flavors of the Season

Focus on seasonal cooking to really celebrate the season of Spring. It is such a great way to incorporate the season. Whether you’re planning a plated dinner party, or buffet style, if you’re making everything by hand, plan ahead and stick with recipes that you know are easy for you to make. Another thing you can do is have everyone bring a dish, or get it catered by a local restaurant, totally depends on the vibe you are going for.

Think Smarter, Not Harder

Plan ahead and figure out how to make things easier for you. Determine your budget, what you’ll need to buy, create a mood board. There are so many ways you can make tings easier for yourself by getting creative, while also staying on track. For me, mood boarding is essential since it really helps to bring the full vision together.

Plan an Activity

A Spring Garden Party is the perfect time to offer a mini bouquet making session. Grabbing a few buckets of fresh Trader Joes Flowers is always a good idea when hosting a bouquet making station. You can order a set of vases on amazon, visit your local dollar store, a local thrift store or used repurposed vases that you may have around the house for guests to take home! There are endless options.
