The Art of Settling into a New Season
The art of settling into a new season is a balance between embracing the current while welcoming the new season ahead. Each season brings a beautiful re-birth, a moment of time where you’re aligned with mother nature adapting to the changing of the seasons. It forces us to change and adjust, to become aware, prepare, let go and settle in. Here are 10 ways to settle into a new season.

1. Appreciate the changing of the seasons by romanticizing the parts of it you love most. Visit my blog post here for some ideas.
2. Slowly allow yourself to adjust. Embrace all parts of the current season while making room for the new.
3. Stay organized, do this by actively decluttering and making room for new decor, and refreshing the home.
4. Create an ambience through candles and lighting. I love adding warm lights, and lighting scented non-toxic candles to really bring each season to life in my home.
5. Eat seasonally. I mention this often, but I have found eating seasonally and most often from local farm stands helps you appreciate the now of the season you’re in.
6. Spend time outside to connect with nature and the changing of the seasons. From blooming flowers, to crispy leaves crunching amongst a path in the woods through each step. Connecting with nature year round is magical.
7. Create easy mindful routines. Personally, I perform best with structure so creating easy, mindful routines is very helpful when adjusting to seasons and shorter days and longer nights.
8. Seasonal Activities. There are magical activities to look forward to every season. I think this is one of the reasons why experiencing all four seasons is so great. There are so many activities to look forward to, and to enjoy.
9. Wear clothes you love and staple pieces you are comfortable in. Having staple pieces for each season, helps you transition and adjust to each season with ease. Knowing that you have pieces you love makes it easier to get dressed no matter what season it is. And truthfully, a good outfit always brightens the mood.
10. Have a year-round hobby. Focus on something that nourishes your soul to keep doing throughout the year so you have something to add some structure. Two things I am interested in year round is Pilates and baking. Practicing Pilates daily helps me keep organized, strong, healthy. While baking, is something I have always enjoyed and getting creative while transforming the produce of the season is a great way to indulge and share the seasonal treats with loved ones. Pilates offers structure for me, and baking is a creative way to embrace the current season, and adapt easier to the changing of the seasons.
