Behind the Design: Cécile de Fleur
“Cécile de Fleur represents the resilient brand it is today and strength for all women,” said Jennifer Reyes, Founder and Fashion Designer of luxury ethical brand, Cécile de Fleur. The universe has its own plan for all of us. Reyes shares her experience of recognizing her divine purpose, Fashion Design, through the ups and downs of entrepreneurship, her intuitive drive, and the meaningful obstacles she overcame that led to the creation of Cécile de Fleur.

Her path to fashion design began in elementary school, where she sketched an entire Halloween costume collection. She always knew she was going to be a Fashion Designer. “My love for royalty silk and lace reflected in the costumes I picked out every Halloween.”
Reyes’ began designing her first Cecile de Fleur collection, “Volume I: Rebirth of the Goddess” in 2020 after a deep spiritual awakening. “My miracle began in 2018 over a heartbreak. I subconsciously lived my life afraid of love which cost me to date emotionally unavailable men. That heartbreak was the catalyst to my growth. My spiritual curiosity expanded even more. Which led me to try different spiritual healings to connect deeply with my soul’s true essence. Rebirth of The Goddess was inspired by the renewal of myself, and how relatable this name is for all women. We’re truly evergreen goddesses!”
The most meaningful lesson she has learned so far, is to surrender. “Be patient and don’t rush the process. By rushing the process, we can lose sight of the important increment of our growth. Be humble. Enjoy the ride and trust that even if the struggle is a long road, it isn’t the end. Have faith because God’s path is always abundant and infinite.” Even though the ride isn’t always smooth, it is worth it.
Reyes learned all of the necessary attributes to entrepreneurship as a one-women entrepreneur. “Being a one-woman show on a budget has both its challenges and blessings. I call it the 360 struggle! Yet I wouldn’t have it any other way. I have gained more knowledge and wisdom than what I started with in the first place. I managed to pivot and start a business during the pandemic shutdown, all while being jobless and left in debt. If it weren’t for my setbacks, there wouldn’t be an inspiring brand story to tell.”
Death and rebirth exists in all forms of life. Cecile de Fleur represents this through wildflower hang tags. “The wildflower hang tags can be planted, thus creating new life to cruelty-free peace silk, where silkworms are allowed to complete their metamorphosis and transform into butterflies. A reminder to all women going through challenges like a cocoon in growth. With patience, faith, and divine timing, you’ll transform into a butterfly, she said.”

The collection consists of dark rich colors such as ruby red, dark blue teal, mustard and the classic, yet timeless – Ivory. “Cécile de fleur women are glamorous and timeless souls who want to be a part of making the world a better place. They embody their inner feminine and march to the beat of their bedazzled drum, said Reyes.” Choosing the style and hue of a dress depends on your personal style and the occasion you’re shopping for. Cécile de Fleur dresses are designed with intention and timelessness. They can be worn for endless events and many years down the road. “Visualize Cécile de Fleur like an art gallery, pieces of fine art that can be passed from generation to generation. Most importantly, the quality of the dress construction helps to maintain a longer lifespan, which makes it sustainable, said Reyes.”
