How to Create a Mindful Autumn Slow Morning
Having structure in your morning routine allows you to adjust easier into a new season. There doesn’t need to be a long list of what to do and what not to do for your morning routine. Everyone has their own preferences and things that work for them. I function best when I start my days early so having a mindful slow morning is the best way to be productive and start the day off. I’ve curated a list of different ways to curate a mindful slow morning that works for you this Autumn.

No Screens at all
Give yourself enough time in the morning to avoid looking at your screen. It’s essential to slowly allow yourself to wake up.
Hot Autumnal Beverage
Make an autumn inspired hot bevvie – cinnamon coffee has been my fav recently.
Get Outside
Enjoy the early morning crisp fall air and just be and appreciate the quiet of the morning. I love enjoying coffee with my dogs and watching the sunrise with them.
Get It Off Your Mind
Start the day with a clear mind, by journaling. Plan a few intentions for the day on a notepad, and write out any thoughts or ideas you may have had upon waking up. According to this study, your brain is at your highest cognitive ability right before you wake up!
Natural Light
Bring in as much natural light as possible by opening the shades throughout your home, I also love opening windows to allow the crisp air to freshen the air in the house. When it come to switching on lights in your home. I like using incandescent lighting with a warm glow or light a beeswax candle.
Intentional Movement
Morning walks, stretching and breathwork are things I enjoy doing. It slowly wakes your body up from a good night’s rest and energizes you for the rest of the day.
Style Your Hair
Something that may seem random, but it actually makes a big difference. Styling your hair is a simple way to feel beautiful and more put together when you start your day. If you aren’t interested in styling it, but want to wake up with perfect hair, I would try Sleepy Tie. Depending on what I have planned for the day, sometimes I throw some curls in my hair, or I wake up with beautiful hair when i go to bed by sleeping with a sleepy tie in my hair, I think having great hair when you wake up makes a huge difference in your mornings!
Glowing Skincare
Use moisturizing skin care to combat the crisp air. I personally love using a face oil with rose water infused into it. It’s very soothing and enhances radiance.
Put on a Cozy Outfit
Have a cute and cozy Autumn outfit to put on because wearing something you feel good in is an instant mood booster.
Nourish Your Body Through Food
Eat something nourishing, hearty and cozy – I have been loving buckwheat pancakes. they are so healthy and they are also very filling! They’re nutty and robust and with a drizzle of pure maple syrup. You can’t go wrong.
