How to Make Your House Cozy for Autumn
Making your house cozy for Autumn is a great way to settle into the season. Afterall, your home should feel like your sanctuary, and as the days get shorter we’re all going to be spending more time inside. There are so many ways to make your house cozy for Autumn. Here are some of my simple, favorite ways to do so.

Add Texture
Bring texture in through cozy chunky knit blankets, fluffy sheepskin, textured pillows. I also love adding in decorative details like a cotton tablecloth, and textured placemats.
Bring Nature Inside
A fun and easy way to add cozy elements is from the earth itself. Work with what you have. We are growing pie pumpkins so I look forward to displaying them on the counter, gather pine cones or acorns from outside, I love the look of birch branches in a large container next to the fireplace, and lastly one of my favorite ways is by decorating with dried hydrangeas. The hydrangeas emulate a gorgeous brown and blush hue perfect for Autumn. I invested in a gorgeous oversized vase I love to fill with greenery each season. You can also fill a patina wooden bowl with pine cones to add a bit of charming character.
Add Ambient Lighting
My favorite way to do this is through candles. I tend to stick with beeswax candles or artificial candles that have a warm glow.
Seasonal Flavors
Eat the flavors of Autumn. with warming spices and herbs of the season. Chicken pot pie, cinnamon rolls and cinnamon lattes. You can’t go wrong with any.
Cardigans and Sweaters
You can never go wrong with cozy cardigans and sweaters to wear around the house. Have a go to cozy cardigan and comfortable slippers to wear around the house. It makes a rainy autumn day even better when you’re snuggled up in your favorites chunky pieces.
Seasonal Scents
An autumn simmer pot. A gorgeous, fragrant non-toxic way to make your entire home smell like Autumn.
Autumn, the season of slowing down and settling into cooler days, colorful foliage, crisp air and cozy evenings.
